Hachikō was a loyal Akita dog from Japan who became famous for his remarkable loyalty to his owner, Hidesaburō Ueno. Every day, Hachikō would wait at Shibuya Station for his owner to return from work even after Ueno died suddenly in 1925.

For over 9 years, Hachikō kept going to the station daily, waiting for a master who would never come back.

He became a national symbol of loyalty and devotion in Japan. A bronze statue of Hachikō now stands outside Shibuya Station in Tokyo, and it’s one of the most famous meeting spots in Japan.
